First year of study
The main aims of the first year of SUTROFOR are:
- To provide students with a basic understanding of the principles and processes that underpin sustainable tropical forestry development, including the social and environmental contexts.
- To develop students theoretical and practical skills within numeracy, communication, information and communication technology (ICT), teamwork, self-management, and professional development in a tropical forestry-specific context.
- To inculcate the values of scholarship: inquiry, reflection, integrity, open-mindedness, evidence-based thinking, and collegiality.
During the first year of study, students must complete a total of 60 ECTS credits choosing from the courses listed at their first year university (University of Copenhagen, Bangor University or Technische Universität Dresden). 20 ECTS credits come from courses that are jointly delivered by the five Consortium partner universities.
