Géraldine Derroire

Géraldine DerroireMy name is Géraldine Derroire. I am an assistant lecturer in the training and research group Environmental Management of Ecosystems and Tropical Forests of the Paris Institute of Technology for Life, Food and Environmental Sciences.

I am interested in forest management and forest ecology and particularly in restoration ecology of tropical forests.

In SUTROFOR, I am in charge of the organisation of forest sciences modules and I am involved in the tropical forest ecology module. I also supervise master theses on forestry and ecology topics.

Pierre-Marie Aubert

My name is Pierre-Marie Aubert. I am a Lecturer in Environmental Social Sciences at the Paris Institute of Technology for Life, Food and Environmental Sciences (AgroParisTech) in Montpellier, France.

I am particularly interested in natural resources and environmental management public policies formulation, implementation and evaluation and their relationships to (i) rural society organisation and dynamics, (ii) global commodity chains that rest on or strongly affect natural renewable resources, and (iii) ecosystems dynamics and evolution. I have a significant experience in qualitative / ethnographic field survey and policy analysis.

In SUTROFOR, I am course responsible teacher in qualitative survey methods in social sciences. I also contribute to other courses such as environmental policies, social sciences for environmental management and strategic environmental management analysis. I also tutor MSc theses over different topics related to environmental social sciences.

Raphaël Manlay

Raphaël ManlayI am Raphaël Manlay and I am a lecturer in Tropical Ecology and Global Change at the Paris Institute of Technology for Life, Food and Environmental Sciences (AgroParisTech) in Montpellier, France.

I also work i) as the Coordinator for France of the joint European MSc programme in Sustainable Tropical Forestry (SUTROFOR), and as the Co-coordinator of the European PhD programme in Forest and Nature for Society (FONASO), ii) as an associate scientist at the French Institute of Research for Development (IRD), and iii) as a consultant in the validation and verification of climate change mitigation forestry projects within the Kyoto Protocol. I am a contributor to, and reviewer for several international journals in the field of tropical ecology and agriculture.

I am particularly interested in i) functional ecology of tropical areas with a focus on carbon cycle and resources, and ii) interactions between sustainability of land-use systems and climate change issues in the tropics. I have significant experience in i) carbon budget assessment and modelling from plot to landscape scales, and ii) analysis of climate change mitigation projects in tropical forestry and agriculture.

In SUTROFOR I am course responsible teacher in Tropical Forest Ecology and Tropical Forests and Global Change. I also contribute to other courses outside AgroParisTech through guest teaching and supervise MSc and cosupervise PhD theses.
